Our Story

Wild Socks was started for one reason: to Keep Life Wild.

I'm Alyssa and I'm the co-founder of Wild Socks. I’ve always been passionate about animals, but it wasn’t until I was fortunate enough to spend a few years traveling and working in some of the world’s most beautiful and biodiverse national parks that I became truly wild about wildlife.

During my travels, I set out to see some of this Earth’s incredible wildlife up close, from 4kg Fiordland crested penguins in New Zealand to 400kg moose in Canada. After seeing these animals in the wild and witnessing the efforts of people dedicating their lives to protect them, I was inspired to act.

The idea for Wild Socks was actually developed whilst living in Fiordland National Park in New Zealand back in 2018. But, travels got in the way and for a long time the business remained a dream.

Then came 2020.

As you can imagine, my life as a traveller came to a grinding halt, along with all of my plans for the year. But, the silver lining? I finally had the time to start Wild Socks.

I run Wild Socks on my own in addition to my job as a teacher. As a (very) small business, every customer makes a big difference! So thank you so much for being a part of this community, and for helping protect endangered wildlife around the world with Wild Socks.

Our Products

With Wild Socks, you can make small steps to big impact! Every pair of Wild Socks donates directly to safeguard endangered wildlife. 30% of gross profits from each purchase is donated to a specialised charity for the animal on the sock.
